Teaching with Objects Workshop - November 2020
I will deliver an interactive session on handling everyday dress & material culture, titled 'From the Mundane to the Glamorous'. I'm presenting on the 'Making' panel on 26th November at the 2-day online event Teaching Through Objects. Click here for the event booking and programme.
This event was funded by the AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Partnership consortium. It brings together researchers working with material culture methodologies across various disciplines including museum studies, history, archaeology, anthropology, craft and design, and more.
My session explores researcher subjectivity as a maker when analysing dress, including the more everyday, commonplace items alongside the spectacular, special-occasion items. I'll also be sharing my recent methods of conducting object-interviews in the time of Covid-19.
