I draw on my combined practice-based and academic background.
I’ve found that this gives me a truly empathetic approach to user-centred design and people-based research. I’m happiest blending a variety of research methods to find innovative ways to make new discoveries.
Research methods
I’m experienced in people-centred research, visual analysis and material culture.
- Qualitative interviewing: oral history, ethnographic-style interviews 
- Survey design 
- Object analysis: museum collections, archives, personal collections 
- Visual analysis: all visual media including print and online media, photography, art, performance, film 
- Textual analysis: close-readings of creative and academic writing
