Anushka Tay, a Londan based designer and researcher

I’m a creative researcher.

I draw on my combined practice-based and academic background.

I’ve found that this gives me a truly empathetic approach to user-centred design and people-based research. I’m happiest blending a variety of research methods to find innovative ways to make new discoveries.

Research methods

I’m experienced in people-centred research, visual analysis and material culture.

  • Qualitative interviewing: oral history, ethnographic-style interviews

  • Survey design

  • Object analysis: museum collections, archives, personal collections

  • Visual analysis: all visual media including print and online media, photography, art, performance, film

  • Textual analysis: close-readings of creative and academic writing
